REPORT
Seminar-Workshop: Seminar on ‘Noncommutative geometry and its application to Physics’ by Deeponjit Bose (Institute of Physics, Jagiellonian University) – 29 August 2025
Type: Seminar-Workshop – Seminar
Event Date: 29 Aug 2025
Venue: Department Seminar Hall, PB-MS-102
Campus: Belur Campus
Department: Physics

In my talk, I will provide a broad overview of noncommutative geometry, surveying its fundamental approaches and diverse applications in Physics. I will then shift focus to my doctoral research on pseudodifferential operators and the Wodzicki residue, a crucial tool within the Connes reconstruction theorem. Utilizing the Wodzicki residue, I will show how to construct several physically significant quantities, including the metric tensor and the torsion functional.
