‘Energy Security’ and ‘Environmental Protection’ are the major challenges for India for becoming a self – reliant, developed country by the centenary year of independence in 2047. Energy is the engine of growth , prosperity and improved quality of life. The challenge is to achieve sustainable ‘energy security’, while protecting the environment and mitigating greenhouse gas ( CO2 & Methane) emission and in turn keeping global warming in control.
