MSc Physics Entrance Test Results – 2018

The following are the candidates selected for counselling as well as wait-listed candidates for admission to the M. Sc. Physics Programme 2018. Both the lists have been prepared by using the following formula:
(Marks in B.Sc.) x 0.3 + (Marks in admission test) x 0.7

Only candidates who have scored above 30 in the admission test were considered eligible.

Candidates from the first list should appear for a counselling session on any one of the following days: 21, 22 May 2018, 11 am – 12:30 pm at the Belur main campus of the University. Admission procedure shall begin immediately after the counselling session. Attending the counselling session is mandatory. Candidates who are selected after the counselling should get admitted on or before 26 May 2018 by paying the requisite fees.

Candidates in the waiting list (which is arranged according to merit) may check the website on 28 May 2018 (regarding the possibility of admission).

Admission Process:

Admission process shall begin immediately after the counselling and will continue till 26 May, 2018. Attending the counselling session is mandatory.
For admission formalities, candidates are required to produce all relevant documents in original from secondary school level (mark sheets, certificates etc.). Candidates seeking hostel admission are adviced to come with their parents/guardians.

Candidates who are finally selected may get admitted by paying a total amount of Rs.17,050/- not later than 26 May 2018.

    After successful online payment, please submit the UTR Number (or transaction number) to the Accounts Department at Medha Bhavan of the Belur Campus of the University.
  2. By drawing a Demand Draft in favour of ‘Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute, Howrah’ payable at Belur Math, Howrah, preferably at UBI or SBI.

Classes will begin on 2 July 2018 (Monday) from 10 am. Admitted students should attend classes from the very start. Failure to attend classes without permission for more than a week shall automatically lead to cancellation of admission.

Scholarships:

Scholarships are available for poor and meritorious students who are financially challenged and find it difficult to pay the fees mentioned herein. Such students, if selected for admission, may approach the University authorities to avail of scholarship benefits on the production of documentary proof of their economic condition. However, they need to first get admitted and then approach for scholarship benefits at least two weeks after attending classes.

Hostel facility:

Only a limited number of seats are available in the hostel. Those requiring hostel facility should apply separately and are advised to come with their parents/guardians. They will be required to give an undertaking that they shall abide strictly by all the rules of hostel discipline. Hostel fees: Rs.500/- as seat rent per month plus Rs.2500/- (fixed) per month as meal charges. Those selected for the hostel will be informed separately.
