Workshop in Theoretical Physics – 18-21 Dec 2017

Department of Physics, RKMVERI, had organized a three-day Workshop in Theoretical Physics from 18-21 Dec 2017.  Dept had arranged for online submission of applications. There was an overwhelming response to our announcement of the workshop, and within the span of less than a month, we received as many as 150 applications from all across India. For logistic reasons, the number of participants had to be limited, which was achieved by making a careful selection based on the academic performance of Read More...

Asst. Prof. Shamik Gupta identified as an Emerging Talent by the Journal of Physics A – 2017

Shamik Gupta,  Assistant Professor, Department of Physics, has been identified as an EMERGING TALENT at the international level by the Journal of Physics A (Mathematical and Theoretical, IOP Science Publications).  Incidentally, the Journal of Physics A is one of the premier Physics journals over the last  5 decades. It is a matter of joy and satisfaction that Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Educational and Research Institute is the ONLY Indian Institution to make it to the list. None of the premier research institutes in India figure in the Read More...

One day meeting on non-equilibrium transport – 8 Nov 2014

In the recent years, there has been a good amount of significant contributions in the country in the field of “Asymmetric Simple exclusion Process (ASEP)” – a paradigmatic model for transport and non-equilibrium phase transitions. It is now time to have a survey of the progress, to raise the open issues and to motivate the students to explore the field. With that in mind a one-day Discussion Meeting on “Asymmetric Simple exclusion Process (ASEP)” will be held on 8 Read More...
