Applications are invited for the position of Professor in the Department of Physics under School of Mathematical Sciences
We are seeking to recruit one Professor in the Department of Physics. The candidates should have the eligibility for direct recruitment at the Professor level as per UGC regulations and norms. We are looking for candidates with passion for teaching and research who will be capable of contributing substantially to the academic activities of our vibrant Department of Physics. Publications of high standard and ability for independent research as well as guiding/supervising students in their postgraduate dissertations and PhD theses are a sine qua non.
Qualifications and Experience:
As per the latest UGC Regulations on Minimum Qualifications for Appointment of Teachers in Universities and Colleges and other Measures for the Maintenance of Standards in Higher Education.
Teaching and research experience as per UGC Regulations/norms for the direct recruitment of Professor.
Pay Scale: UGC scales of pay as per the recommendations of 7th CPC, consistent with the West Bengal State as far as possible.
Areas of expertise that we are looking for:
- Broad Areas: High Energy Physics; Non-commutative Geometry
- Specific Areas: Study of quantum theories in non-commutative space-time; Physics of quantum gravity regime; Non-commutative Geometry; both mathematical aspects and applications in the standard model of particle physics and beyond
