We will try to understand a brief history of our universe and where we stand today. In doing so, we shall go through the elementary particles and their interactions. The so-called Standard Model physics and beyond will be touched upon with the questions in explaining the current day universe and our existence. The discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012 led to proof of the Higgs mechanism and mass generation of elementary particles. Does it stop there? We will see the path ahead with the present and future experiments.
