Seminar on ‘Kinetics of phase separation of colloidal particles in active liquids’ by Sayan Maity (Phd Student at IISER, Pune)

REPORT
Seminar-Workshop: Seminar on ‘Kinetics of phase separation of colloidal particles in active liquids’ by Sayan Maity (Phd Student at IISER, Pune)
Type: Seminar-Workshop – Seminar
Event Date: 18 Apr 2024
Venue: PB-MS-102
Campus: Belur Campus
Department: Physics

Abstract: Active matter refers to a fascinating class of systems whose individual constituents can self propel due to an internal source of energy. Being out of equilibrium, they are known to display many exotic phenomena such as flocking, motility-induced phase separation, active turbulence and superfluidity, which are absent in equilibrium systems.
