Seminar-Workshop: Seminar on ‘Revealing the Quantum Signature of Gravity via Gravitational Waves’ by Partha Nandi (NITheCS, South Africa) – 15 January 2026
Type: Seminar-Workshop – Seminar
Event Date: 15 Jan 2026
Venue: Department Seminar Hall, PB-MS-102
Campus: Belur Campus
Department: Physics
This talk explores the interplay between quantum entanglement and gravity-induced entanglement (GIE) in systems of quantum harmonic oscillators interacting with gravitational waves (GWs). I will discuss the possibility of generating entanglement between orthogonal modes of oscillators, modeled through mesoscopic mirrors coupled to GWs. The analysis reveals distinctive entanglement dynamics driven by classical gravitational waves, including a quantum memory effect and notable temperature-dependent behavior of the oscillators.
